AT HOME BEAUTY BY BLOW LTD

Or any day come to that. Here's what happened when the Kiss the Moon team gave it a try...  

We've been impressed with Blow Ltd before. Their two salons in London (one in Covent Garden, one in Canary Wharf) are life-savers when you need slick makeup and a fast blow dry before an important meeting or night out on the town. Just book in a slot, pick the type of hairdo and look you are after and let the stylists do their thing. Blow Ltd is all about fast beauty so the transformation is a speedy one. They'll even press your outfit for you and let you get changed there if you are rushing somewhere straight from work.  What a great idea. However, Blow's latest thing got us even more excited - Fast Beauty on Demand. Click on their app or give them a bell to arrange a home visit from one of their team of beauty experts. With manicures, pedicures and facials on the agenda as well as blow dries and make up sessions, we had to give it a whirl.

So, on a recent trip to London we booked a slot for a manicure and pedicure to see how the whole thing worked. The Blow team will turn up at your home, hotel or event anywhere in London zones 1, 2 or 3. The great thing about Blow is they take bookings from 7am to 8pm. Those early morning bookings are ideal to help you leave the house looking sharp - a godsend on days when you need to impress.  But what we were really excited about were the evening slots. A bit of pampering is a perfect way to unwind after a hectic day and doing it at home or in your hotel means you can stay nice and relaxed all evening then later on, just slip in to bed, looking and feeling lovely.  

We signed up for a 6.30 slot and opted for a classic pedicure and manicure - £60 for 80minutes. The lovely Charlotte turned up at our hotel on the dot, wheeling a kit bag full of all the tools of the trade including a generous selection of nail colours to choose from. She was both skilled and charming, focused on doing a great job rather than the time it took (another advantage of being the in a later slot as we were her last booking of the day so she wasn't in a crazy rush.) We can honestly say it's one of the best manicures we've had. It still looked perfect five days later despite the general abuse our nails have to endure (including feeding the birds in the freezing cold and constant tapping on this laptop).  The pedicure was just as good - toes now smartly dressed in steely-grey polish and presentable again. Not easy to achieve given they have been hidden in thick socks and boots for the last few months. The whole thing was so relaxing - a perfect end to the day and a great way to spend a winter evening in. Give it a try for yourself and you'll see what we mean.
