What's so special about Shea Butter?
<>Aug 05, 2015
Our new After Dark Balms contain a mix of shea butter with our signature blend of essential oils and White Tea Seed Oil. Here's a little bit more info on shea butter and why we've chosen it as the perfect natural base for our lovely new balms. Shea butter comes from the nut of the African shea nut tree. The English word ‘shea', comes from s’i, the tree’s name in the Bambara language of Mali. The history of shea as a precious beauty product can be traced back to Ancient Egypt, where shea butter was (and still is) used to protect the hair and skin from the fierce sun and hot dry winds of the African deserts and savannahs. Deeply moisturising and widely used for skin healing, it has been described as a superfood for the skin. Blended with pure essential oils it makes a highly aromatic, nutrient-rich treat that can soothe your skin and your soul. We love the way it melts in to the skin easily, making it not only super nourishing but also an excellent carrier for essential oils which release effortlessly as on contact with the skin. Try it for yourself in our brand new After Dark Balms - available in DREAM & CALM from kissthemoon.com £16 for 12ml
