Magnesium is known as the sleepy mineral. Studies have found that there’s a link between having sufficient magnesium in our system and getting a good night’s sleep. That’s because magnesium helps to regulate neurotransmitters that send messages from our nervous system to the brain and that help aid relaxation. Stress drains the body of magnesium and increases levels of adrenaline. When dissolved in warm water, magnesium salts (also known as Epsom Salts) are absorbed through the skin and replenishes the level of magnesium in the body. The magnesium helps to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating chemical within the brain that creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. Just the thing to help you relax in to sleep mode at bedtime
