FANCY AN EARLY NIGHT?
Fact or Fiction? "An hour of sleep before midnight is worth two after"
Sadly it's fiction. When it comes to sleep, it's quantity and quality than matters rather than what time you turn in for the night.
Whatever time you fall asleep, it's the first cycle of sleep (roughly the first three hours) that is the most vital. Of course, if you are tired, then going to bed a bit earlier than usual makes sense if you can wangle it as it gives you more of an opportunity to get the amount of sleep your body needs. So, an early night now and again might help, but it won't solve things if you are out of kilter with your sleep.
Overall, it's better to try and get in to a regular pattern that works for you and lets you wake up refreshed than chopping and changing nightly.
