MEET YOU IN THE GARDEN
National Gardening Week 2016 starts today with activities planned all around the country and a host of open gardens to wander round on the April 15th. The theme this year is ‘Get Fit in a Garden’ and there’s a whole host events planned to showcase how everything from a little gentle outdoor yoga to digging your borders can help your stay fit and well.
According to a study by the Centre for Disease Control, gardening for 30-45 minutes a day can burn 150-300 calories. It doesn’t just get you moving, it also lifts the spirit and gives you a good dose of fresh air and sunshine. All of which combine to help you sleep better at night.
