ROCKY ON YOUR RESOLUTIONS?
New Year's Resolutions are easy to make but a lot harder to stick too. It's about now that things start to get a bit rocky and we drift back to our old ways. Looking for help to stay on track? Try these top tips...
Set SMART goals
SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-bound. Vague promises, like "get in shape" or "run more often" are really hard to track. Chose a specific goal that feels realistic so you can celebrate when you get there
Keep Track
Know that we all suffer setbacks but that's no reason to chuck in the towel. We find it really helps to keep a record of your progress in a resolution diary so you can understand better what causes you to stumble and learn how to avoid the same scenario again.
Within Arms Reach
Half the battle can be the effort of preparing for a task rather than the task itself. If your goal is to head out for a run first thing, get your exercise kit out the night before and leave it with your trainers ready to throw on. If your goal is to improve your sleep, include a bedside ritual and keep a jar of Kiss the Moon hand cream by the bedside table to make it easier to apply before you doze off
Get Support
The buddy system really does work. Tell a friend, get them to join you in your goal. Sharing the challenge with a friend or family member holds you both to account and makes change much more likely
