DO WE SLEEP BETTER BY THE SEASIDE?
Some people put it down to the calming sound of the waves; others point to the high concentration of negative ions in the air. One interesting theory we have heard goes much deeper than that. The thinking is that in ancient times our ancestors knew that once they reached the sea there was a readily available source of food and fresh water rivers nearby, so the chance of survival was high and anxiety levels were lower. Whatever the reason, we do like to be beside the seaside. Photo taken by Jo at Budle Bay, Northumberland, UK.
